Cairns' Biggest Morning Tea

Come down to the Cairns Esplanade Plaza (where the weekend markets are held) and show your support for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. Whether you join for a long morning tea or just pop in for a quick morning break, all are welcome to attend. Local caterers will be providing an extensive range of morning foods to purchase, with proceeds going to the Queensland Cancer Council. Enjoy live entertainment, fundraising activities, great food and a great atmosphere. Local businesses, schools and community organisations are encouraged to get involved, show support and be recognised as a valued supporter. Let's put Cairns on the map as hosting the biggest and best morning tea ever!

Come along to Cairns' Biggest Morning Tea!

My name is Emma Lodge and together with close buddy Sharon Cohrs we are taking the Cancer Challenge. Sharon is a breast cancer survivor, and my family has personally been affected by cancer. This has given both myself and Sharon a determination to fundraise and go for the challenge as this is the closest thing we can do to make a difference. We will be hosting the Cairns' Biggest Morning Tea on the 27th May 2010 on the Esplanade Plaza (next to the lagoon pool). Cairns has not had a signature morning tea event before, so I am planning to put our community on the map as being one of the biggest fundraisers this year for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea! It will be a huge community event with opportunities for many businesses to get involved. I want to be able to not only support the Cancer Council in raising much needed funds, but also support many local businesses with recognition and promotion. Climbing for a Cause

Sharon is a real inspiration and is planning to be the first breast cancer survivor in the world to Summit Mount Everest. Over the next three years Sharon will be climbing four mountains with the last being Everest, to raise much needed funds and awareness for breast cancer research. We plan to host some major events in Cairns to raise the profile of Sharons ambition and to provide much needed funds towards the Cancer Council Queensland.
